Description
The beads are translucent and have the characteristic light reflective flecks of highest quality amber. The back is finished with sought after “cherry” colored Amber beads for contrast. The darker section can be worn at the back or on the side. The necklace can be worn doubled or long. The design is inspired by avant guard France’s early 20th century fascination with all things Russian, such as Sergei Diaghilev’s Ballet Russes . At this time Russian immigrants from the revolution poured into france bringing with them their music, their culture and their jewelry.
